When a subwoofer has a recommended "box volume" does it take into consideration the space the subwoofer takes up?

I'm getting a new enclosure and I would love for it to be near the recommended volume.

It does it even when the gain is down very low. What can I do to give my system more power? Another battery? HO Alternator? What's the best way to come at this on a low budget?

I'm buying news subs for my MTX 3401(which puts out 200WRMS to each sub) and I'm choosing between MTX, Kicker, and Rockford.

amp is brand new. I actually had the same problems when I had my last amp installed. That one was brand new too.
