Yuppers. Those all were.

Right out of a cardboard box and just put your wires from amp to it.

Just throwin this out here as a suggestion, but if you're interested in an 8" sub..the new DD 1508's are soo damn sweet. Beefy as hell and definitely will do what you want them to do. I'm not sure what retail is on them, but they're definitely affordable.

Again, the subs Bill linked are good, but with an 8" sub, you need more to acheive "SPL" remember. Its a cone area and displacement game... Fs also comes into play if you want to bang away on 20hz notes all day.
I beg to differ

our 1508 has been documented and has hit 140+ db with 750 watts going to it. One 8 in a horn enclosure.

Cone area has something to do with it, but box has much more to do with it.

Don't think he can fit a horn enclosure in his single cab. what was the actual SPL and freq? I know a guy in Tennessee that did a 142.4 with a set of 6x9's in a horn loaded bandpass but it was at 80hz. The 1508's are bad ass speakers but it still an 8. I'm confused y the spl guys dont just use 8's if there just as loud lol.

Well he has the limited space. I would suggest the T1508 for the space constraints. It is true that you need more 8's to equal the cone space that a pair of larger subs can make, but in this application, 10's may not be the best fit.

Let me get the information and I will post it up. it was measured in our mini..but I don't know the specifics.

They're anywhere from 120-150 i believe which is very affordable for what you're getting. I don't doubt at all you could do a 140 with a couple of those beasts or even 1 in the right enclosure/vehicle. They're not just any regular 8. Heavy little suckers.
