Well, not a few inches, but maybe one more inch. The seatbelt buckles are kinda short and might only let one more inch. I'd really prefer not to raise the seat if possible.Airforceyooper wrote:Can you put some spacers under the seat bolts themselves and get yourself another inch or so? Maybe have some brackets made that could get your another couple inches? Then you'd have a bit more flexibility.

Thermally, yes. Mechanically, not in most cases. 150WRMS or so is all you're gonna need with most enclosures. Ported has more mechanical control at lower frequencies (until you drop below tuning) in that case you could get away with that much. But typical sealed, IB, etc. nah not necessary. The thing is pretty efficient as is, 85.5db is pretty efficient for just an 8", a lot of 12" subs on the market aren't that efficient just due to the design optimized for a small sealed box or similar.

I concur however i wouldn't say not in most cases. and an efficency of 85.5 isn't that impressive. most subs today or new released subs are in the low to high ninety's and some are even into the 100's, which leads me to believe the sub has a decent spider (s) in which case it would mechanically be able to take 300 watts in a standard box and possibly ib.Jonathan wrote:Thermally, yes.
