Pioneer or Kicker hmm (8W7 Stealthbox thread) *Now with ID8's!

Post by William from NOLA »

Has anyone per chance experienced the 8W7 Steathbox from JL in the new Tundra?

I am considering one, basically because I don't know how to fiberglass lol.

I want two, but for around $1400, I think I want to take up glassing.

Any opinions/experiences?

I'd go the glass route... just imagine what you could do with that money ;)

Yeah the 8W7 is a great sounding little sub, but 1400 is way to much 2 of them and a box(s).

why not contact terry at sound solutions and see if there is a q logic box for the tundra that he could save you an assload on and maybe get you a planet audio or kicker or re sub to go in it

For $1,400 you could take a class in fiberglassing, build your box, pay for the subs, and still have money left over.

Just start reading http://www.fiberglassforums.com/

I like to look at other peoples projects for ideas and new/better ways of doing things.

Ah, decisions decisions. I've brought it down to some shallows.

I can't figure out which way to go:
Kicker 10" CVT's (pair, two)
http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fus ... ct_ID=5401

or

Kicker 12" CVT (single, one)
http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fus ... ct_ID=5403

or

Pioneer Premier 12" shallows (pair, two)
http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/ ... TS-SW1241D

My problem is that I think I want the SPL of the Kicker, but the SQ of the Pioneer's (which is actually pretty good for such a cheap sub).

I can make a box that is 1.6 cubes (sealed only).

I need some pursuasion lol
