Ascendant Audio or Elemental Designs??
Ascendant Audio or Elemental Designs??
Looking to get a couple of 8 inch subs because of limited space in my truck. Each one will be in a small sealed box. My amp is a Hifonics BX1000D mono. Should I go with Ascendant Audio Assassins (they are single 4 ohm woofers) OR Elemental Designs 9kv.2's (they are dual 4 ohm woofers)???? -Any Recommendations- ????

First, what will your budget be?? This can help us determine a lot.
I would definitely go with the the Ascedant woofers over the ED woofers. The Assassin woofers seem to be a very very good sub for the price that they are.
If you can spend the money, i would take a look at TC sounds TC-1000 subs. http://www.tcsounds.com/tc1000.htm If you can get the 8" to fit, i think it will be one of the best 8" woofers out there.

Yea, those look like awesome subs but they are $150 a piece versus $50 a piece for the Assassins. Would rather save $$ and go with assassins but will my amp be too much power for them? the amp is rated at 700 rms @ 2 ohms x 1 --and the amp will see a 2 ohm load from the 2 subs. The subs are rated for about 150 watts rms a piece.

That would be a lot of power for the assassins. The subs will never see the full 350watts that amp can produce primarily because music is dynamic. They probably can take more than 150 clean watts, but you will just have to make sure you are careful when playing them at loud volumes. You will also need to set your amp carefully so you send the subs a distortion free signal.
