yep, with most radios, you dont even need to hook ground up, just plug the antenna in.
but i doubt thats the case with yours. like bill said, take a 12v battery, or use the one under the hood, and directly connect the red and yellow wire to + and the black wire to -. if it doesnt turn on, its a dead radio. and i wouldnt be surprised to get 3 bad radios from best buy.

UPDATE.... I did it!!!
Hahah ok well i found out what the problem was...
Wish i had a wire voltage tool in the first place... probably could have solved this a while ago... but after grounding the HU in 2 spots on the chasis and hooking up an isolated Battery power wire I was still getting no juice...
I was ready to kick the car in the teeth (if they had those ) then i realized somethign... Did i check the ACC wire?
Turns out when my friend was installing the first HU and was connecting the IPOD device he had the ACC wire exposed, touched the chassis and fried the entire line!
Thanks for telling me that now huh?
So solution was to tap into the Cigarette lighter for the ACC...
Works fine no audible distortion, and I sold my RE SX12 and box to this kid last night for $250 and i think he is looking for a 800w - 1000w amp now as he is only powering it with my Shitty old Boss Riot 1035D 1600W AMP...
Needless to say... even on the Boss Amp the truck is loud... those Xterras are perfect to load up with subs.
