I must respectfully disagree. Your previous post suggested that Bush was morally superior to Clinton because Bush seeks guidance from God while Clinton gained sexual gratification from someone other than his wife. I simply stated that Bush's morality may be in question since he lied to the country for the purpose of justifying a war, which has resulted in the loss of thousands of American and Iraqi lives and an even greater number of serious debilitating physical injuries.
If Bush were to seek guidance from Allah rather than a Christian deity would you perceive his 'morality' as being any different? In my opinion, an individual's actions are more indicative of his or her morality than any self-proclaimed religious affiliation.
I know you believe that the ultimate judgment will come from God, but you ironically made your own judgment apparent in your statement while hypocritically stating that only God can judge a man's actions. And saying that "only when he is at the judgment will his actions have weight" blatantly disregards the number of lives lost in this war that are based on the president's actions. To me that carries weight, and I'm sure it does with the family and friends of those who lost their lives fighting this war. As a nation we certainly can judge the president's decisions and actions because we live in a representative democracy and our elected officials represent each and every one of us, despite our vast philosophical differences. To deny this right is to violate the very core of what makes America great]The fear of a nation??? Where did that come from? The nation first supported his action...and the media then reported no WMD's...yet there is first hand knowledge of that here on this website by soldiers there IN the battle. Now the country hates him...they first supported him, then they turned his back on him as soon as some fat hollywood director showed media propaganda rather than posting the truth, cause quite frankly...Truth is boring.

People of our nation feared for their own security after the horrific attacks on 9/11, and Bush utilized that fear to support a personal agenda of vindicating his father and overthrowing a terrible dictator. While I agree that Hussein needed to be removed from power, I didn't agree with the manner in which that task was initiated. Bush hastily fashioned an invasion based on evidence he knew was suspect, and he placed our service men and women in a dangerous position without regard for their lives or potential negative outcome that could (and has) occurred. To me that is a grave misuse of power by our government (including congress) and it does not promote the best interest of our nation or the world.
I am greatly indebted to our servicemen and women who sacrifice their safety and lives for our nation, and I will continually support their actions and dedication to our country. But I'll be damned if I don't hold our elected officials responsible for ensuring that they are making the most educated and MORAL decisions for the very individuals who are directly experiencing the drastic consequences of those decisions.
