well that would be great driver. for the money i would say its worth it.

with sub woofers i find that in many cases you can spend less money and get a better speaker but with smaller speakers i dont find that to be the case. most brands are in line with each other so its really about looking at the responce differences. i think that with your stock speakers that would be a great choice. If your were running Rainbow Platinum or some seas comps i would say chose something else.

BTW you may want to start another thread on this. we are kind of taking over this poor guys post lol. sorry about that. we now bring you back to our Regularly scheduled programming. lol

Kicker SSMB6 ( $200.00)
Pioneer PRS TS-M7PRS ( Found the set for $183 and its top of the line through Pioneer)
Ascendant Audio 6.5 Poly Mid ($35 each)
Adire Extremis 6.8 Home audio Mids (Will work in a car app though) unsure of price
Crystal SSws 5.25 ( Said $35 on a site i dont believe that is bad)
CDT Eurosport Series 7" Mids ... (Way too pricey at $300 a driver) but from what i hear they are absolutely amazing

Etronics lists the SSMB6 as $66...
here

with these, the rated frequency response is low, but people still use crossovers with them. Is that necessary?

question is related to the conversation so why not..... would making a small sealed enclosure for a 6.5" midwoofer in the rear deck add more punch, or would it be similar or less than IB?

No its not necessary, but if you want to controll how low and how high they extend into a good crossover is usefull... I believe though that these can be controlled directly with the Amp.

I think it would depend on the design of the Mid... For instance it is recomended that the Adire Extremis be in a sealed enclosure where as the kickers are not.

I really do like those Pioneers, the CDT are far out of my price range. Well, they both are, really.

The Pioneer is the only one that i feel comfortable paying that much for... I love Pioneer and that series is Bangin! I have 1 of their series and its soo clean... Also you might be able to bargain them down... I found one site selling at 168 and they are at 183 at Audio n More so in order to get your business they will try to beat that price so i would be like sell it to me for $160!!
