for speakers, I'd give it a good ten or so hours of moderate use.. that gives the spiders and such time to loosen up some.. until the subs are broken in, or any speaker for that matter, it will have a different timbre, and may not sound that good at first. Give it time, and once it's good and loose and settled, it'll take on it's more natural, permanent tonal qualities.

Yup, strating the break in period. Can't help to bump up the music a little loud though. Not too bad, I'm at like 20 volume level out of 50. I usuaully listen at like 40.

How much of a difference should I be hearing once its broken in? Will it be louder?

lol.. you sure he told you not to turn up to like 60? hell, my deck only goes to 62.

anyway, you should gradually notice it getting louder and sounding better. i almost wanted to return my jl sub when i first got it installed, a week or two later i was very happy with it. same thing with my comp's, kinda.

try to avoid using full volume on the head unit. keep it about 4 to 8 points below max if you can.. that avoids going into the distortion range of the head unit itself.. keeps a cleaner signal.
