hm.
Yeah, don't base your diet off of vegetables, just use them to fill you up when you have a craving. Stick to lean meats, chicken, fish, maybe a can of tuna, and try to stick to chicken breast, nothing fried, and white meat is a lot better.
If you're going to eat fruit go for something like blueberries or strawberries, fruit is just sugar and if it's abused it will actually slow your progession as it stores fructose.
I'd just add a little into your diet, something you enjoy, pull out some veggies, and if it's going to increase your calorie intake, just add a 20min workout each day and you'll be fine. Healthier, too.
btw: Water, water, water, water. Water is very important, flushes fat out of your body, and you need to get your water retention up, it will very well help you lose weight. You can also use it when you get hungry, I know sometimes it makes it worse, but chug a glass of water and then fill it up again and try to drink it before meals, before bedtime maybe, etc to help fill you up so you don't eat as much. And if you eat before you go to bed (which is typically a big no-no) try to eat cottage cheese.

that's mostly right lotas. I forgot to mention Tuna. Tuna is really good for you too.
There are basically two types of sugars. Suctose and Fructose. Suctose being artificial sugars and Fructose being natural sugars. The natural sugars are lower on the glycemic index than artificial sugars. And, natural fruit offers a bunch of other benefits in the vitamin area and others. Don't be afraid of fruit.
I'd work in as much exercise as you can. a well developed workout. Here's what I do.
Day 1: incline dumbell presses, incline dumbell flies, military presses, forward arm raises and kickbacks. (chest, shoulders and triceps) then run at least a half hour at a very slow pace and if you're on a treadmill, run on a 1.0 incline.
Day 2: squats, leg presses, laying leg curls, leg curls, calf presses (all lower body). No running. If you did your workout right, you won't be able to run anyway. Maybe walk 10 minutes or something to stretch out a bit. But that's about it.
Day 3: Dead lifts, lat pulldowns, bent over rows, shrugs, arm curls, seated rows (back and biceps). Then run at least a half hour at a very slow pace.
Day 4: nothing. Just relax and let your body recooperate.
then start over again. You can squeeze in crunches and leg lifts where ever you feel you have the energy but don't over do it. Your muscles need to rest otherwise you're not doing yourself any good.
when you lift weights, you should probably stick to lighter weights. Lift enough weight weith each exercise so you can do two full sets of 15 reps and then do three more sets with as many reps as you can. Once you build up to be able to do three full sets of 15, then up the weight a little bit.
I do 3 sets of 8 reps. Well, once I can do two full sets of 8 I up the weight. This is why I've gained 9 pounds. However, my body fat has gone down a lot. I also don't worry about how much I eat. I just make sure I eat good stuff and drink a crap load of water. I drink grapefuit juice with meals and water all day long.
Some of the best things you can eat are yogurt, nuts (almonds), jerkey, cherries, tuna, etc.
I'm telling you. bodybuilders.com will give you all the information you need to get fit. It's a great source of information.

i drink tons of water... i havn't drinken anything but water and a little milk in probably like a week and a half. right now i'm doing alright.. im about to go do about 30-45 minuets of walking/jogging and then i'll be off to work. im going to try to gulp down some soup and then i'll have a steak and a salad for dinner at work. i like this diet, its working for me. i'm hoping i can manage to continue this diet next week and for as long as possible until i can get my body fat % down (at that point i'll probably join the navy before i get a chance to get it back up :P)

lol. Good luck. I tell ya, once you start making that progress and getting in shape, it feels great. I think you get addicted in a way. I've found I love to run. I get on the treadmill and will run for an hour after my weight workout. I can burn about 1,100 calories in an hour on the treadmill. It feels great! :) ok, I'm out of here. It's 10:30 p.m. here. That's a 14.5 hour day for me today. That's about average. And 4 days off since Jan. 20. I'm ready for a vacation! Good night guys. Good luck with the dieting Keith.

it does... i like running more now then i usually do. i've had tons more energy too. i havn't had a redbull in about 2 weeks. the week before i quit i was going through 4 redbulls a day. I've cut out soda, working on sweets now, as well as fried foods. It'll be tons easier once im out of school... i want to dedicate this summer to getting in shape. i'm hoping to be able to do the gym and some PT with the navy recruiters. I think actually running (Vs the stuff at the gym) will help get my lung capacity up alot faster. I'm going to make my dad setup our treadmill soon so i can run at home when i don't get a chance to get to the gym.
anyway, looks like my veggie problem is fine. i guess i just had a bad day yesterday.

Could try drinking some vitamin water too (if its available in ur area). Its not as bland as water and has a small amount of vitamins in it (duh, the name is vitamin water). I drink a lot of it. And ive dropped 13 lbs with minimal excercise cutting out soda and other crap.
Another fun form of excercise is bike riding. Get a mountain bike and hit the trails! I ride every sunday w. a few buds of mine. Gonna get on the bike more once im done w. my damn car!

Energy drinks are mostly sugar.
Running burns calories while you run, weight lifting burns calories all day long. the best workout routine will incorporate both running and weights.
