Rockford Fosgate?

i need to upgrade my subs.. i'm thinking a few RE 12's.. i wish i could try before i buy though. but since i can't, the only thing i can do is trust opinions or buy JL, Memphis, Kicker, Power Accoustic, or Alpine (dual, sony, rf, etc are availbe to me locally but im leaving them out.)the 2 RE s will run me $100-$140 shipped....

Anyway, maytbe you guys can help me... i'm looking to run a low wattage system (under 800rms) that'll get loud and im not looking to drop much more than $400 for the subs... i'd prefer less though. I don't care whether or not i'll be harassed for running X brand because Y brand is SOOOO Much better. (other than your obvious absolute shits.. sony.. dual...etc)

alpine or jl i dont like memphis anymore they dont impress me much... as for the kicker there not my favrite... never had much experiance with power accoustics.

The w1v2 ins't working out or what? Could you fit a SE15 in there? $150 somewhere round there. 600rms. Alpine type-R's are great. If you were to go kciker, go with the CVR. What amp will you be using?

well... i've been looking at re for a while now. and i can't fit a 15 in my trunk. my current box is 16" high with carpet and it barely fits. and at over about 15" high, it hits something on my rear deck. no clue on the amp> the thing with the w1v2 is that i don't know i want to drop $150 to have a box built (my skills & tools arenr't up to it. cutting straight off a plastic with yoru elbow holding the wood down doesn't work well.). although, i could get a jl e1400 from my jl dealer for a decent price i think... they're having a sale soon.

I am not too sure about the new line Rockford has put out (I agree the 1's and 2's look pretty cheap) but I love my Power DVC 12" (I have been running it for 5 1/2 years). And the guys I know love their Punch HX2's and Power HX2's. From 1 or 2 years ago. You can pick them up on Ebay all day long for decent prices.

Thats interesting. I had 2 Punch HX2's in a sealed box and hated them. But to each his own. Rockford was much better in the mid 90's then they are now.

not sure what the display models are,but they're terrible at best buy. every few months the crap out, the cone cracks up.. iknow its beat on but still.

If you are getting a new sub, you will have to get a new box. Or look for a diff kind of 13" sub. or 13.5" which ever one.

my skills & tools arenr't up to it

Actually it;s not hard at all. Your local home depo can make cuts for you too. So you wouldn't need any saws.

no they can't... they have some sort of policy where they won't cut like that. or they're not supposed to anyway. (the guy at lowes did it for me, but he wasn't supposed to.. said he can ge get introuble for it). plus i already have mdf.

Wow.... $700 for a pair of subs...
Man I'm glad I'm not a bass head... Close to 140db's is plenty loud for me & SQ subs capable of that much output are available for less than $300 for the pair...

While I don't care for RF speakers lines... I do find that they are still making great mid-highend amps...
