ohho k... so in a calculator like the one at a the12v, what would i put in the form for the parallel/series calculator for a DVC sub?

well if you parallel wire the two voice coils together you get two ohms. if you series wire them together you get 8 ohms. there are a few different series parallel combinations depending on what you do with the subs and what your amp can handle. if your amp is only two ohm stable series wire the voice coils on each sub and then parallel the pair back to the amp. if you decide to run a second amp you can hook each subs pair of voice coils up to each amp as if it were actually two subs. this will get you a 2 ohm load and the most power.

I just went to the Kicker site and answered my own question. If I can try to trade the subs for Dual 2 ohm then I can wire the subs to 1 ohm, then I can wire them in parallel and it will present a 2 ohm load. Sound correct?

sorry i missed this. i didnt read it close enough. if you get dual 2 ohm vc subs and parallel wire them for 1 ohm each and then parallel wire the pair together you get 1/2 ohm. you would need to series wire the subs for 4 ohms each and then parallel the pair back to the amp.

Ok, I uderstand what is needed now. I need to run 2 dual 2 ohm sub with that amp to get it to work. Thank you very much.

I also got my email back from the Kicker tech and he said when you run 2 dual 2 ohm CVR's together with the Kicker 600.1 amp it will put out 700 rms to the subs. Ever heard of this?

the amp is probably capable of putting 700w out at 1ohm... or 2...

yeah, kicker usually under-rates their amps, i think my 600.1 is putting out just over 700 watts @ 2 ohm
