HU on and off on and off

i dont have any amps hooked up to it. it is just the head unit powering the stock speakers. BLEH. any more ideas?

Maybe I misread what you said, but did you say your headunit isn't grounded???

its a long story but to make it short, i got my HU through a friend who works at circuit city, but then i couldnt get it installed by them so i did it myself in the parking lot. they didnt give me the new DIN to fit the HU so its just in with the stock DIN. the only thing connected to the back of the HU is the antenna wire, and the wire harness. no black wire going to a ground point or anything. im not sure if there was an extra line given to me for this or professional installation does it for you. should i finally get it professionally done?
