i have to agree with most of you - if we want to dump our money into social programs, they need to be ones that benefit soceity. Free/cheap education is where its at, maybe subsidized loans at a low rate to cover cost of living

Whats that they say? give a man a fish, feed him for a day

Teach a man to fish, feed him for life. Some concept applies here. If we educate these people (and set them up with internships/work studies, maybe discounted daycare) The benefit to the country will be enormous. I can see no down side to putting these slackers through college and making them into tomorrow's doctors, engineers, scientists, etc. Having an educated population is pretty much the only way to not be a third world country. You see places like china and india pushing education now, and they're heading towards the top economically, and america continues to fall behind pretty much everywhere. (except in borrowing money - we're great at that)

That's a good point, and I agree with you...

I'm all about trying to help the fellow citizens, atleast the ones who are willing to help themselfs.

I really hope that the next president can/will do something great for the economy.

I doubt either will. I think obama has a better chance, he apparently wants to get us out of iraq. Now, this is assuming all his socalist-like plans don't get implemented immediately and he raises taxes for rich folk and corporations, and starts taxing the ****ing oil companies like they should be.

by no means am i on obama's bandcockwagon, i'll likely vote bob barr unless it gets real close, then i'll throw my vote to obama. Anything to stop McSame.

I am an avid smoker and have been for decades and when our grandchildren come over there is NO Smoking in the house... It's either outside or in the garage. The same holds true for my daughter's home as she is also a smoker. If we take the kids somewhere no smoking in the car either... Smoking is a personal choice and should NEVER be inflicted on children.

By the way, not to question but I believe there may be more to your uncle than just the non-filters. I myself smoke camel non-filters and my doctors hates me as I still have a better lung capacity than he does... He's a nonsmoker and half my age.
I've actually seen the difference between filtered and unfiltered on the effects of the lungs and believe it or not the non-filters are farrr better for you as you are not inhailing the cotton and fiberglass that is in the filter which your body cannot process.

And before everyone jumps on this anti smoking subject... I do Not want to see anyone pick up on this habit, nor do I feel bad when someone quits. I actually feel quit good for them... I just have no intentions on quiting myself any time soon.

It's fine if you want to smoke, thats completely up to you. I'm glad you agree with not smoking in the same area as the kids though!

As far as the filter vs non filter, I have NO idea.
