http://www.mini-itx.com/store This is the mini-itx computer store that seems to have the most stuff that I've found.

Smoker: is that screen a 4 or 5 wire? I've read that the four wire screens aren't nearly as good as the 5. No specifics as to why though.

The more I read about the challenges of doing high end audio with a computer, the more I'm shying away from it. With the hardware restrictions and or software issues, it's looking like sticking with a Alpine 701 is still the way to go.

I've still got plenty more reading to do and about another six or eight months before I could even start buildilng the car pc, if I was to do it. Plenty can change is that amount of time, especially in the computer industry.

you mean as in the power supply wires? i dont remember, ive got one at the shop i could look at but i dont see what difference that would make. it comes with a stylus and program disc for the on screen keyboard but it also has the plug in that you could use a regular keyboard if im not mistaken......

I don't know really. something to do with the touch screen. I guess 4 wire is the older style and the new stuff is 5 wire. Supposedly 5 wire is that much better. But I couldn't tell you any better then that. Sorry.

I wouldn't use it for watching movies. If I went with the larger screen, I'd have it split screen with engine OBDII diognostics running on one half and the music interface running on the other. Or some realatively similar configuration. I'm not interested in watching movies in my car. I've got a smoking surround sound in my house for that. And also, I'd still have remote control for changing tracks and volume and stuff. So it's no like I'd be driving around staring at my screen all the time. lol.
