I use a table saw, 100.00 entry level delta from Lowe's. I usually go about 4-6" apart and predrill and countersink the screws, I also glue the joints. I usually seal the box with clear silicone, but I have used liquid nails before.

Now that I have a air compressor an nail gun I will probably go with glue/brad nails.

The first couple boxes I made I used a circle saw and a jig saw.

i've put together cabinets with no gaps. still use pocket screws for extra strength.

Decking screws, Glue, Silicone, PL, or Glass (or combinations of)... Screws at approx. 6 inches apart (closer on corners). As for cutting I've been known to use all: Table saw, Circular saw, Jig saw, Router... Heck I can even do (and have done) precision cuts with a saws all... The Grinder, sander, and Dremel also come in very handy.
