try to keep the mid and tweeter together if possible.
makes keeping signal path lengths and phasing the same.

Ok so going with a strong midbass motor stucture and a large soft tweeter that makes me lean to JBL GTI speakers. In my doors there are a 2 inch spacer. If i angle the spacer to set the midbass much less off axis. and the tweeter would be set high in the door like i already stated. How would that set up be off of 100 rms? I am looking for very smooth tweeters, with deep impact from the midbass. In a decent price range these seem to be a good idea to me? in the Gti price range is there any better? 400 bux?

Read the SQ setup thing in the FAQ section. TONS of info in there.

Ive installed two sets of components jl Trs, and rockford 2 tweet punches. I just didnt know if i had them in the right spots for optimal sound. I have sealed my front doorts with about half a gallon of sludge, so the doors have no holes in them at all.

ok so as far as speaker positioning, tweeter will have to be set High on the doors about three inches below the window. The midbass can be mounted any where, and i would actually like to go three way if possible mounting the midbass in the factor location, and midbass to the left or possible 5 inches about the midbass, leaving midbass low, midrange in the middle of the door, and tweeter high. Can anyone give me a better understanding of components with those locations? i know subwoofers fairly well but components and proper location is all new to me. Any help would Be GREAT!

Wish I could... Making changes, and focusing a bit more on the little sub, for better or worse. Really, we keep going back and forth, as we've got a "bigger and better" design that I'm pushing for, even though it's going to delay the release from the other option - a "release 1 / release 2" combination.

Due to some real support and enthusiasm here, I'm no doubt going to do a small "beta run" - essentially a RFP (request for prototype) that's perhaps 10 or 20 units under the guise of stress-testing for example - larger than your usual RFP.

And what might be cool with that is the "stealth" factor - usually those prototypes are mechanically exact, but with cosmetic details left out, so they could look slightly different (logo, plating, etc).

And the beneficiaries of that RFP would be the few who have unknowingly reserved a place on an 'invitation list' of sorts... like buying a Ferarri, where customers are available on an "invite only" basis? :p
