I would stay below 180hz though

So are you asking if i suggest a Crossover? I would say yes to get one but if you dont have one its not a big deal, you can control the crossover points through your Amp and sometimes even through your HU

sorry, couldn't resist.
I've been waiting for someone to do this. Oddly, I've used the same alias in 50+ other forums, and never once has anyone said it.

it's fine, i think its for the better, but, mind helping me out with the crossover confusion i mentioned in my previous post?

by CaptainPioneer » Thu Jul 13, 2006 12:17 pm

sorry i think most ppl will tell you that i have a way of steering a thread a diff way, sometimes good, but most of the time into total confusion lol

sooo tempting! but then, i still need an amp! :sad017: This morning i thought I was all set, now I have all these choices, and I can't make a decision..

the price of the kicker set at etronics has me oogling them though....as much as I'd prefer the pioneers with the lower rms. I'm still curious about crossovers though. If the speaker only has a response from 50-600hz, it wont reproduce higher frequencies, so, would a crossover just be used to minimize the frequencies it can reproduce? say, if it the midbass driver was in a system where you only wanted certain frequencies boosted? Otherwise, it would only reproduce what it's able too, correct?

The Pioneer is the only one that i feel comfortable paying that much for... I love Pioneer and that series is Bangin! I have 1 of their series and its soo clean... Also you might be able to bargain them down... I found one site selling at 168 and they are at 183 at Audio n More so in order to get your business they will try to beat that price so i would be like sell it to me for $160!!

I really do like those Pioneers, the CDT are far out of my price range. Well, they both are, really.

I think it would depend on the design of the Mid... For instance it is recomended that the Adire Extremis be in a sealed enclosure where as the kickers are not.
