Even so, I bet it doesnt last... I've done a few radio bezel and other suck items, but door panels and consoles see alot of abuse... I'd like to see the cars a year down the road, maybe it wouldnt be as bad as I think?

Here are the exact placement of the Speakers.... Door speakers are in the lower left toward the front hood.... the Rear speakers are on head level directly posted to the back of the cab just below the window.... and sorry to say, No they are not powered by an Amp :( I am running Pioneer Premier 6.5" in the doors and Pioneer REV 6.5" posted on the rear of the cab...

Original placement of the speakers were 4 inch speakers used to be in the lower piller of the rear door frame basically on the ground... (Terrible for sound)...

Now what I was thinking was to take the Speakers now and do this bare with the terrible drawing here:

(Spkr)[seat:seat:seat]openopenopen[seat:seat:seat](Spkr)
[seat:seat:seat] openopenopen [seat:seat:seat]
[seat:seat:seat] openopenopen [seat:seat:seat]

Open aread is just blank space and the seat is where the seats would be in reference to the back view of the truck toward the rear of it. The speakers would still be posted on the back wall just all the way to the left and all the way to the right... Still on head hight if not just a little lower.

did you mean that the speakers where in the center of the door, or that they were in the center of the truck? If they are in the center of the door thats not a bad place. What kind of speakers are you running? Are they amped?

Dodge Ram 1500 std cab... I already have 6.5" in the doors, I dont really wanna do Kicks cause i like my leg room i have... what do u think?

I am going to see if i can find my old picture of my truck with my really old set up in it it was goofy looking

by MobileAudio219 » Fri Jun 30, 2006 9:11 am

I dont think the imaging would be too great there, either.

What kind of truck is this?

I'd try tossing them in the doors or kicks.

nah this one was in a Ferarri but i know what ur saying... Nah im not splitting up my Subs i have my Speakers in a Pod directly center in my truck and i have basically no imaging so what im going to do is take the speakers out and then cut it in half and sealit back up and then put them on the extremes of my cab all the way to the left and right near the seatbelt pulleys

With kick panels you *might* be able to get away only fleece, but with a sub box you'd definitely want to add 5-6 layers of mat over that.

As for reme's box, the one that you are probably thinking of was a 6 sided mdf box, the front was fiberglass only to add shape, it was already sealed from the mdf baffle that was sunken in... Dont know how to describe, but it was a nice box (haha).

Perhaps i will do the same, i think i am going to reloacate those speakers in my truck from the Dead Center to the far extremes hmmm that would look good... and it would really be easier for me too
