If it's like my daughter's DMX7705S, AA only works with the gray USB with most phones.

Sorry, can't think of anything else to do.

If Android Auto starts on the phone manually, you've already tried multiple phones and USB sync cables.

It might be worth a shot contacting Kenwood to see if they have any other ideas.

I can,I don't think it's the pig tails coming from the radio as they charge the phones and the phone connect to Bluetooth everytime.

To me it seems like it's not seeing the phone for some reason, or at least not making a connection to the Android Auto App.

are you able to open Android Auto manually on the phone itself?
