Looking for amplifier suggestions

Post by ryboto »

I had my mind set on an Eclipse XA4000, but I can't find one for a price I can afford. Can anyone suggest a quality 4 channel amplifier that will do anywhere from 75-120W RMS @ 4ohms? Price is an important consideration, but quality is a must, so I'd like to see what other brands offer in terms of price. I looked through a few brands on Sonicelectronix, and the prices all seem to be along the $299-350 range for the brands I've read to be high quality. I'd appreciate any and all suggestions, thanks in advance.

I'd prefer higher output if I can afford it.

If price is an issue, then look into the Crunch amps, either line GP or PZI will give you some good clean power @ 4 ohms and not break the bank ;)

Well, there were two listings on Ebay, one for $235, one for $244, which is a lot better than the $350 at the cheapest Etailer. Thanks for checking, quite awesome of you.

well, the two listings are gone, I think they were sold. I sent messages to the sellers, but no responses yet. There hasn't been another listing for the amp since.

The XA, I hadn't really looked at the EA series.

so, the EA4100 is 75x4, as opposed to 125x4. It's also class AB, not D like the XA series. It's only $209 at Sonicelectronix...well within my range. Thing is, another user is selling a Kicker ZX650.4 and I'm on the verge of buying it from him for $170. A bit cheaper, and more power. So, still on the fence. Now there's possibly 3 amps I'm considering, just great!
