Might be getting a built, 12 second stang
Buddy has a nice 86 mustang coupe that has a bunch of stuff done to it, he wants to trade me my mustang and my blazer, between the two I have around 2,500 in them. I think I might trade, still not 100% sure, I'll have to get another daily driver if I do... But heres a list of the mods.
stock 302 with a main support girdle to hold the bottom end together.
Edelbrock heads
edelbrock performer rpm intake
1.7rr
f cam
70mm throttle body and egr spacer
19# injectors
stock mass air meter
aeromotive fpr with a 2 5/8 pro comp fuel pressure gauge in front of the windshield.
255lph fuel pump
mac 1 3/4 long tubes
2 1/2 mac off road h pipe
flowmasters with dumps
msd 6al ignition
msd coil
msd spark plug wires
msd cap and rotor
monster tach with shift light
3 core radiator
a9l computer
t5 transmission
centerforce dual friction clutch
pro. 5.0 shifter

If I can find another nice car/truck to use as a daily I'll probably do it... Now to make some phone calls.

Right now hes using the car as a daily driver and drivers about 60 miles to and from work, so he drives it pretty easy. He built the car with a z rated t5 from jegs and shelled 3 gear within a couple weeks, so he put the stock t5 back in and is scared of breaking the tranny so he doesnt rod it very hard at all....brent wrote:Sounds like it may be an awesome deal. Sounds like there is atleast 2500 already in the car. How hard has the car been ran, wait, lets rethink that, how often was it ran since build?
I drove it and really, really want it, but I guess I have to wait to see if it pans out. He wants to trade because he lives on a curvy, hilly road and needs a 4wd for winter, and will still have my stang to build over the winter..
So today I have to see if I can find a decent dd, otherwise no dice.

Ahh, I decided against it...
I'm just going to do my orginal plan of parking my stang for the winter and a little maintance and modding...
I figure it I work on it every winter then in a few years it should be mint, plus each spring/summer will be that much funner than the last.

n/a it runs 12.9's, with the supercharger its ran 12.3's with not so good 60ft times (no traction.) With a good driver it could probably run high 11's with the s/c..
He's now offering to throw his 87 daytona shelby z with the 92 2.5 turbo and 5 speed in the deal, but its has a rattle in the engine so its going to need rebuilt... The rest of the cars in good shape.... He also has a nos kit for the stang he throw in.... Starting to get tempting. :happy055:

Now it's looking like a deal
You get a built stang and the daily driver (daytona) that you were looking for... I'd be tempted :)
