Greatest gearhead article ever

Post by William from NOLA »

Johnathan Goodwin can get 100 mpg out of a Lincoln Continental, cut emissions by 80%, and double the horsepower. Does the car business have the guts to follow him?
Maybe not for all gearheads *cough*detroit*cough* but this article is really inspiring and awesome.

It is very long, so you will want to set aside 20 minutes or so.

I just read through the whole thing and it's amazing... Nice find William
I've been saying for a while now that what was said there about bio-diesel is the step towards the future of alternatives :)

Neat article. If that's true about big car companies not WANTING great gas mileage (which IMO is probably true), then people like this are going to be the beginning of the "revolution" towards more power and much better gas mileage. With the amount of science we have today, we can cure deadly diseases, transplant organs without problem and design computers that complete processes in a second that would take home computers years to complete... But we can't design a basic vehicle that gets great gas mileage?

Great article and I hope people continue to do things like this that push car companies to get on their game because they look stupid.

great article. I don't think the trend will follow simply because this makers too much sense...I wish I was joking....but I'm not...

I just read the entire things as well. It was quite long and awesome. To put things into perspective, that accomplishment for him must be like winning the superbowl.

There have been extremely fuel efficient engines already developed for a number of years now by independent engineers. It's not that car manufacturers don't want fuel efficient engines, but instead oil companies. Oil companies simply offer $1 million to the developer and simply tuck away the patent.

While there are findings and rumors of this type of thing happening... I believe this one is no sell out... Why do I believe not this one you ask? A: Simple, this man is a gear head and customizer, not your run of the mill scientist, engineer, or inventor looking to do great things to settle for the all mighty dollar. This man and his company are already becoming well know for their amazing work, so it won't be so easy to shut up someone who already has shown the potential and is becoming more well known as an artist :happy055:

LOL

I have to agree though, I don't think this fella has any intentions of selling out. He is interested in the technology, not the money. Aside from the technology, it seems he is not short on cash anyway.
