My Uncle passed

Post by cargodz »

Well my uncle has been in the hospital for the last few days... He caught a flu bug while on a trip to Memphis to visit one of his kids and it developed into pneumonia, when he got to the hospital they had to put him on an oxygen resperator as he was only using 20% of his lung capacity... He already suffered from acute MS and the fact that if he did recover from this would've limited him even more than he already was, so he had just given up the will to live... He did live a good life even with the MS and leaves behind 5 children and 3 exwifes (he always was a ladies man), and loved to travel, so fitting that a trip was the last thing he did... And my wife and I did get to go see him in his final hours and he was content.
He was always there as a listener and very loving with a quick joke to cheer you up... You will be missed Uncle Dick... Our loss, heavens gain.

I'm really sorry to hear that. It sounds like he led a full life, despite his health problems.

That is hard to cope with especially since something as common as the flu could be so harmful. Sorry for your loss, im sure that if at anything at this time you will remember the good times you had with your uncle rather than the grief inside you.

Well just a brief update... My Uncle is to be cremated today and in honor of his will... there will be No service or memorial... I can somehow appreciate this as he wanted to be remembered as a man... even up till the last hours in the hospital, he was doing everything himself, making sure everyone knew proper arrangements for afterwards... So I'm sure all of us will remember him as the strong willed man he was.
