ok guys i have been approved for a 4000$ loan for a car......i just needs some suggestions on what to get and what NOT to get...

With gas prices the way they are you would be stupid to buy about anything rated under 30 MPG city. Its only going to get worse...
Look into a GM ecotec 4Cylinder powered car. I hear they do very well.

Here's a short list of economical cars for ya well under your price range:
Dodge Neon
Honda Civic
VW Jetta
Nissan Altima or Sentra
Chevy Cavalier/ Pontiac Sunfire
Saturn SC or SL
Kia Sephia
Toyota Camry (Geo Prism) Corolla
All of these are great on gas and and can be fixed relatively cheap
