sub air pushing 6x9 cones?

Im wondering if this is a big problem/concern.

I was playing my sub the other day and i went to the backseats and looked at the 6x9's (they werent hooked up but were in placE) and the air from the sub was moving the cone up and down (not drastically but you could tell when the sub was hitting)

i know its not good to push cones in and out manually, so what can I do to fix this (if it is a problem)? I'd imagine it would be even worse when the 6x9 was getting power because it might be trying to move one way while the sub another..

anyways just wondering if im gonna need to build some sort of box int he turnk that bolts to the rear deck for them or something?

thanks guys

Yeah I just took my rear 6x8's out because: 1. They sounded like crap and 2. The same thing that's happening to you. The subs were pushing them way past xmax and they were distorting like crazy.

its not really a problem if you don't plan on using them. if you are using them ( I know your not but in the future), you can use a set foam baffles.

Yea, it shouldn't be a problem as long as the pressure from the subs is exurting an equal force on the whole cone (which it should be). When people press down on cones with their hands, they have a tendency to push it sideways rather than straight which is where the actual damage takes place.

what about when they are hooked up though

That would probably strain the driver, impeding its output and accuracy. It would be best to use a foam baffle as 71buickfreak said.

My 6x9s blew, I took em out. I really dont see a need for em. I just gotta carpet where I cut holes in the back deck lol.

rear speakers are for newbs. pull the 6x9s and run a good set of amplified components up front. :thumbsup

Take them out.

You want to port the trunk to the cabin anyhow. You actually want it so there is no resistance of air movement between the both (volume dicated by subs).

This will help couple the air in the two chambers better.
