My First Amp Install
My First Amp Install
So i ran the RCA's without a problem, I just have a few questions about the power ground and remote wires... 1)What are my options to connect the power wire to the battery? 2)My amp is under the driver's seat, where would be the ideal place to put the ground wire? 3)Can the remote wire run along the power wire or the RCA's? (I know you cant run the power and the RCA's together but I am unsure of the remote wire) 4) I'm going to be running my amp at 520 watts, is a 125amp fuse good enough? And any other tips for a first time installer would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance...

the remote can be ran anyhere. If its under the seat, you could use any clean spot for grounding. If you can use a terminal ring and use a cleaned off seat mounting bolt. But in most cases you'd want to run power on one side, signal on the other. What'd you mean about the power wire? how to run it from under the seat throught the firewall, if so try to find a grommet, or any hole through the firewall into the car, fuse less than 12" from the battery, and your good.

Do not put a 125amp fuse on the power line. The fuse you want on the power line should be about 10% greater than the amount on the amp. I would just put a 60amp on the power line. Remote wire can be ran anywhere. It is such a small amount of current it wont bother the rca wires, but you could run it with the power wire just to be safe. On the power wire connecting it to the battery, you can put a ring terminal on the wire and put it on the factory battery terminal or buy new battery terminals.

The 125 amp fuse would be WAY overkill and a 60 amp will do you just just fine.
