1992 Mustang

Post by stephensmia »

My Dad has a 1992 mustang and he is having a problem. His driver door dose not lock. If you use the alarm remote it locks the passenger door but not the drivers door it wont even look with the key or by pressing the lock down fro the inside. Any help would be great.

take the door panel off, you may be able to see the problem then.. all of my cars that ive owned and worked on, there is a little rod that connects to the door locking mechanism that pulls it, it may have came off.. it just slides right back in the hole. :thumbsup

^ Chances are that is probably the problem as many times the lil plastic clip they put on to hold them snaps... If the key doesn't move at all when you try and lock it... Could be hung on something inside the door or it could be that the lock essembly just got screwed up... So I would agree... Take the door panel off and do some investigating and then if it is the lock itself, you can take it to a locksmith and have a new lock put in.

Its probably one of the rods binding.. I would take the door panel off and see if you can spot the problem. I really doubt its the lock itself......

My friend had the same problem with his sabb, we took the door panel off and saw there was a little plastic clip that was broken, that's probably all that it is...
