Pushed in cone

Post by SACHEL »

the cone on my subwoofer has a center circle that pokes out a little and there is a spot on it where it is pushed in and is annoying me. it will be able to pop out but the only problem is finding a way to push it up from the other side. anyone know how to get the pushed in part of the cone to get popper back out??

Poke a small needle thru it and use it to pull it up.

well, you have ta be careful that you dont over extend the cone if you use a vacuum. If it is a paper material, i'd go with a bent needle. For plastic, i'd try a window suction cup (as previously mentioned)

well you need common sense....as in, oh i dont know, lets see here, dont try to lift the sub with the vac, ive never had a problem doing it that way and back in the day, all subs had those type of dust caps, inverted caps werent thought of yet and any type of metal cone was futuristic.....but i know a body guy who can pop dents out of sheet metal with a blowtorch and a rubber mallet...........

Same here, try the vacuum, might even wanna try your household vacuum first if it has attachments (lil less power than a shop vac), but it does work very well :thumbsup
