Need quick help, im going to buy soon!

~~Sorry for posting this in to subforums, but i need quick answers.. read below! Ill get more responses this way! Sorry!

Okay, im going to be purchasing my subs very very soon, and was curious about your opinions. Im getting either one of these very cheap from my cousin, he has a lot of money, and works at circuit city and said he could get me either one of these, but i have to let him know tonight which one i want. These are my choices,

-Kicker 05S12L5 05' Model in ported box. The l5 vented enclosure. 12in. Dual 2ohm sub.

-Kicker 1200-Watt Dual 12" Subwoofer/Enclosure (DCVR122)

Obviously, the first is a single sub, where as my other choice is two 12's but which is going to pound harder and give me better sound. These are my only options because im getting them very cheap, when im older, i plan on getting some rele nice, high end brand subs.

Any opinions? Thanks a lot, means a lot to me!

Tough call really.

Two subs vs one. But the two are sealed, the single is ported.

I would probably go for the single sub.

Have you considered your power yet?

My opinion ONLY... I'd go with the 2 subs only because you could probably take them outta the enclosure and put them in something more suited to their specs... and the round cone will give you a cleaner sound.

I would go with the dual cvr setup. Right off the bat i would like the cvr's over the L5. They probably can get louder right out of the box and will sound better than a square sub. If you want the cvr's louder, just make a good ported box and they will really shine for ya.

I don't like the L5 so I'm with Mike. You could get into a big discussion about what would be louder, but it depends on what you're looking for. Like Mike said you could play around with the CVR's more, but what are you gonna do with the L5 if it's already ported?


I just don't like the square subs...seems more like marketing to me than innovation.
