10,000 posts bitches!

Post by Ryan from Ohio »

10,000 posts

This is a milestone for me. Ive seen some of you celebrate 500, 1,000, etc. This is much different, this is 10,000!

What does it take? Well its taken the better part of 6 years. Its also taken countless hours. Its taken patience, research and persistence.

History:

For me it all started one day way back in late 1999. I was very interested in R/C Boats at this time and was active on an R/C boat message forum, which was an EZ Board. I was checking out another users profile which in turns shows your activity on all forums in the EZ Board network. I seen he was at some Car Audio forum so I decided to snoop around a bit.

Enter Car Audio Central @ EZ Board.

I went through and answered his questions. Then I found myself hooked from that day. At that point in time I went through reading many messages and replying. At that time it appeared Chris and Michael (Puckstpr) were not to active in their forum... But all would soon change.

The forum started to grow and grow...

I remember when Justin showed up seeking advice with his Legacy system.

I remember Kiki the Cats first appearance. Asking about Car Alarms, install info- I believe for the Charger.

All the EZ Board issues...

Then onto the good times here...

When we finally made the decision to switch Puck decided to end his Admin/Moderator status and not go in with us for this new forum. So Chris, Justin and Myself went forward. Eventually Kiki came through also. So here we are, the four horsemen!

When we opened this board I opted to bring along my previous post count. So what you see is actual. Some people did, some people didn't.

Its been a very long journey. I know Ive made this comment awhile back, but I think its high time to reiterate it. It seems as we have evolved enough where the members that were once here to learn are doing the teaching. This is a very good thing, especially as some of us are getting older and more out of touch with exactly whats in and whats what. One thing is always constant, the basics. That is where we all start and need to stay strong on.

Very long winded post, isn't it? Well good it should be as its my 10,000th post! So sit back, read it and enjoy!

I would like to thank all the members here. Especially the long standing transferee's from the EZ Board. The new Users also, especially the Platinum Status users. You guys keep this place going!

I would like to personally thank all of those that have helped me get through some tough times Ive had in my 6 years here. This board and its members have literally been some of my best friends over time. Even though I haven't met many of you or even talked to you on the phone.

There is a certain comradely thats rivaled by no other forum Ive been on ever!

Chris/Michael- Thanks for taking the time to start the little fire way back when. Look at it go now. While its not the biggest or best known, the quality of content here is very good!

Glass/Kiki/whoever- While you're sometimes rather brash you wear the hat of correctness in almost all technical matters. Its very good to have you aboard!

Justin- Watching you come up was rather fun. Its cool to see you are still going up! Congrats to you and your adventures, they sure look fun! The quality of your installs has been very impressive.

Megahurts- Haha, calling you by your old school name ;) Its been a fun journey watching you learn. Now your part of the team! Way to go!

Bwcad1- Yes its a pretty strange user name but who really cares? Your relentless pursuit of maximum SPL has been very impressive. Just like the mountain of money that had to be spent to get where you are now. Money isn't everything, but you sure as hell show your commitment to the SPL side of things. Kudos for you and your wallet. The SPL tricks you bring in keep some of us on our toes while were changing gears. May the new build kick ass, be it in the Blazer or a Buick, no matter how many times its changed :p

Geo- Thanks for stooping by and supporting our smaller audience. Your extensive and rather in depth posts are not in vain brother!

Sinister Audio- Transplant from CAF. When I started seeing your posts on Fiberglassing boxes I knew I wanted you to join this forum. Im glad you come along. Your fiberglass insight has been beneficial to all. Sorry to hear the business didn't do to well, but never the less we are all glad to have you here.

Smoker- A very cool dude, in his own righteous way. Keep living the dream man! BTW Im coming down in November to get them windows tinted and pick up them subs...

High Society- Even though you haven't been around as much still a very valuable asset to this forum. Consistent and accurate information is vital here, all of which you provide. Weve had a fair amount of dealings and I'm glad to know ya.

Darthness- The kid on the rise, trying to make his way in this cruel world. Keep your chin up and try to always upgrade your equipment when you can ;)

OnYrMrk- A very cool old school competitor with them old school ways. Actually your SQ ventures has lead me further down the SQ path. Your guidance in the ultra high end headunit world led me to the purchase of my McIntosh HU. Thanks!

Johnathan- Much like kiki you provide a wealth of correct information!

Jeremy, Joey, Audiobass10, Airforceyooper, Cargodz- You guys have been pretty swell also on an all around basis in your own respective rights. Hopefully eveyone sticks around and helps bring in new members.

Looking around this place is pretty small. Especially considering our post counts and longevity.

Ha, at any rate its been a long post...

So happy 10,000 to me, looking forward to another 6 years and 10,000+ more posts!

Viva La 10,000

It has been a long ride, but a ride every car stereo nut should take. I wouldn't be were I am today, if you all wouldn't have started this board. Sure I would have learned a little from Jonathan and Glass at my last forum, but not near what I have since I joined here.

Amen brother. This forum is one of a kind, and thats what keeps me comming back. Hell, name one "other forum" where everyone gets along like we do.

So thanks for 10,000 posts, and helping this car audio nut get to where he is today.

Yep, I'm so happy to see how this forum has grown and matured into a respected forum. I think that's what I like best is, the members actually care as to how the forum is looked at by others. Mods (now admins) who wanted to see the forum grow and actually invest their own money into software and hosting. And now is entirely supported by the members (platty's).

I remember when i started this forum way back when, I was looking for ways to get more people to just see my personal webpage for the Camaro. One day I stumbled across EZboard. Thought, hey it's free might as well. So created the forum, and almost never looked at it!! Then one day I took a look, and saw I had someone post on it. I was shocked!!! I wish I can remember the user name. He posted for a few months, but then disappeared.

Most of you don't know this, when I started the forum, it was mostly geared toward Camaro owners! Car audio was just a sub-forum!!

Now 7 years later, look how we've grown!!

Thanks to you all!!!

i personally think this is the "most" mature car audio forum that most of us go too.. now i only go here and ROE, but the others ive been too and check on sometimes, are full of people who make fun of "noobs" and such, and the mods dont do anything to fix the problem, and sometimes join in.... but this place and ROE(well theres a few people on roe who just post dumb $hit) have plenty of knowledgeble people and great information and things like that..

Ryan, Happy 10,000th! I have felt privaleged to be a part of this very unique forum. Sure we talk Car Audio, but never have I been a part of a national forum that has the kind of brotherhood that we seem to share. I would almost liken it to a Fraternity of sorts. Except in my Frat, we didn't really get along with everyone.

Thanks for the kind words, and I know you will enjoy the Mx4000. It is the one that got away for me. I am still staring down that Drz9255, but it will most likely be after Finals. Congrats to you and all the mods/admins that have made such a wonderful forum for us. This is a most rewarding place to hang your hat. Here is to another 10,000 posts! Cheers!
