I'm trying to decide whether to get the
Q-Logic QLH-2.2515SE
Type 2 Single 15" Hatch Box
or get a custom box made for my two 15'' fubr power acoustik subs...
My first question is If I use two single boxes instead of 1 dual will my subs not play as efficiently, or should I just go with the custom, the qlogic box pretty much matches all my specs, power acoustik wants 3.0 cu ft for ported box and the box has 2.75 cu ft I know this isnt exact but is it TOO bad? thanks in advance

It depends on the look you are going for and how much you want to spend. The QL boxes will sound great, as not all pre-fab boxes sound the same! QL is the premium prefab enclosure manufacturer. That being said, I build all my own boxes, but I have all the tools and have been doing this for over 10 years. Your looking at appx. $250 starting for a custom box. :s_thumbup

thats not true at all. 5/8th is NOT too thin for "real subs". First of all, the QL boxes feature dado'd end panels, meaning the end boards are set inside the dados so that there is absolutely 0 chance of blowing one out. And, just for clarification, Q-Logic has NEVER had a box returned because the wood failed. I personally have loaded 60lb drivers run with over 3000 watts in a QL box with out even so much as a little flex in the box. Beleive me, 5/8ths is plenty thick enough for most any woofer. now, if your building a competition SPL system, with a huge box with lots of flat surface area, you would want to run thicker wood, 3/4 or 1", but there's no need to go larger than that for any anything else. I use 5/8ths for all my custom boxes, its cheaper and lighter.
