Zapco DC Reference Amps

Post by solacedagony »

I've been checking out a bunch of different amp companies, deciding what I'm going to use for going active. I just ran across these things on the Zapco website. The amount of flexibility these things have are amazing. You pay for it, but you can go active with just the amps themselves.

1 - Output and input Gain

2 - Input mode: Rt, Lft, or Sum Mono

3 - Crossover mode: High Pass, Low pass, Band Pass

4 - Crossover Slope from 6 - 24dB

5 - Q-Bass Equalization

6 - Network Node Position

7 - Time Delay by both time and distance

8 - 10 bands of Parametric Equalization per Channel

They look nice, but I have to ask. Class A/B, D, or T?

I don't see anywhere on their site that tells the class. I'll have to look around on Google later.

"The big 6-channel runs about a grand and has all the processing. Just last year the same Zapco amplifier and processing power would have cost over $4,000.00."

thats awesome that they're making them alittle more affordable too

I'm surprised these things aren't as popular as some of the other amps seem to be.

i used to think that i would want a jl 300/2 and 1000/1 if anything ever happened to my current equipment. but now i may be leaning more towards these zapcos when im in the market for amps again...

the usb connectivity OR remote control for all the fine tuning is impressive as well

They don't come out and say its a class T, but the tech is about the same.

Their reference line is class A/B, can't seem to find much on the DC Ref line.
