ok so i installed my amp today. It was going great but I am not a pro with this stuff and this is the first amp that I have installed so i kinda winged it. I was hoping to use this amp for the front two speakers and then bridge the other 2 channels for one sub. I wired the speakers from the hu area to make it easier. I didnt know what color wire was for the front speakers so I looked at the back speaker colors and elimatinated those wires from the possible 8 wires to splice. When I finished up I turned the car on and only the back speakers would play. I messed with a few things and all the speakers work now and it sounds good i think. Heres the problem. I was messing with fade on my HU and I realized that the all the speakers would play when I put it on all the way front, and No speakers will play when i put it on all back. THis isnt good I think. ANyone know what I messed up to get it this way?

You just don't have the ability to fade. Sounds like you hooked up your RCAs to only the front RCA pre-outs on your HU.

Does that mean that I correctly installed the amp? So how i have it now is that the front speakers are getting the power from the amp and the back speakers are get the HU power?

I think something may be wrong with the installation because the front speakers are playing loud at all and those are the once supposably hooked to the amp/

if you are adding an aftermarket amp and want to do it the "right way" use aftermarket wiring for the entire shot and stay away from the factory wiring

I think some of us missed your thread. Sorry Jezze, in a week you should of had a page or two of answers.

Anyway,

Yes you don't need thick wire for your speakers so 16g will be plenty.
messed with a few things and all the speakers work now and it sounds good i think. Heres the problem. When doin this you need to make sure you have the RCA's hooked up right.

Make sure you got the front and rear RCA's hooked up right. If using Y cables you wont have the ablity to do that. If you use front and rear RCA jack on the back of the HU then you will. (If your HU has more then one)

I think something may be wrong with the installation because the front speakers are playing loud at all and those are the once supposably hooked to the amp/
Make sure you have the gains set properly. And that all the wires are hooked up right. Hell you might have the rears hooked up to the amp. Take the advice and use new wiring so you don't make a mistake. To get through the door use a coat hanger and tie the wire to it and run it through the hole. Worked for me :)
