what fq to run my amp at
my amp a pioneer class d 600watt rms @2ohm it has the crossover that says
40hz - 240 hz im trying to figure where to set it at for optimum bass / sq i have an arc audio arc 15d4 in 2cuft sealed its in the back of my car not in trunk i typically listen to rap anyway if someone could point me to somewhere i can read about this setting to figure out how to tune it that would be awesome
if it matters i have my bass boost about 50% so the speaker is getting somewhere around 300watts rms i already broke one of theese speakers with this setup so im kinda scared to run much more boost
thanks
andrew

u can set it at about 1/4 thats the safe spot on most amps but if indeed u are running that amp at 2 ohms... u are pushing 1000 watts not 600 u said it was an ARC Audio d4? 4ohm dual right, so if u are wired in a parallel u are running 1000 watts there... thats prolly why u blew thew first one

Turn bass boost off.... with a properly set gain, it will just turn it into a clipped signal. To properly set your gain, you want to do rms * ohm load and take the square root of that. This number equals the amount of volts that you should be reading at the speaker outputs of the amp by a DMM(volt meter). Your amp does 600rms at 2ohm, the 1000 is the peak rating.... you must of read that wrong caption
And when you are setting your gain, use a like a 50hz test tone. 60hz is kind of low to set the crossover at unless your sub doesnt like the higher tones, you can set it in the area of 80hz.
What is the rms of the arc sub?? The reason you blew it could of been of over powering with a clipped signal from the bass boost. As long as the sub is getting clean power, you should have no problem if the rms of the sub is lower than what the amp will put out.

Yeah, you can download ones from http://www.realmofexcursion.com go to downloads and click a 50hz tone and is +0db.

Well, I have never seen an amp that only has that. Hey bug man, does it only have the bass level?? http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pna/v ... sComponent On there at the bottom, it says it has input level contral, that would be the gain if it has it.CaptainPioneer wrote:His Bass Level is his Gain dude... lol
