Wwiii?

Post by Darthness »

I know this is a kind of touchy subject but here it goes.. i'm bored.

I've been thinking recently and also just read a article on shoutwire (i think that was the site). Anyway, it just kind of brought the possibility of a third world war to my head. With North Korea and Iran being jackasses, China wanting more power (and to smack taiwan around), pakistan and india aren't happy with each other. Plus all the shit thats going on in the middle east right now. Israel & Lebanon, and in the future possibly syria, iran, and other countries could get involved in that. The US has already said that if China attacked Taiwan, we'd support Taiwan. In the event that Pakistan and India got into it, i'm thinking we'd side with India... (although both are our allies, so i'm unsure on that one). North Korea & Iran is bad situation itself, i belive. I havn't been following all the headliens so i may be wrong, but I belive both China and Russia have economic ties or something like that with them.

Just a sucky situation huh? Hopefully the next presidents will be able to avoid getting involved in any of the conflics like we did in the previous world wars..... (as go into a straight defensive mode-attack only if attacked type of deal) Although i don't think we'd last too long if we had to cut off trading with any of the said countries, especially in oil. I'm sure some of you guys out there that have been following things better than i have and will correct anything i've said.

anyway this post is not meant to be troublesome or anything, just kind of ranting and seeing what you guys think. :argh

We have the Alaska oil reserve which is enough oil to run this country for years... So its not that big of a deal. Furthermore there is a certain amount of crude oil the US keeps and stores for emergencies...

Israel will wipe the floor with Lebannon with ease, unless other countries step in.

THink about it, Isreal is not wanted in that area by everyone pretty much. SO they have to have a decent military to ward off attacks. Also every able body men and women have to join the military and serve their time...

North Korea wouldnt be a big deal if we limit it to air/sea attacks. We tried the ground approach and pretty much looked stupid doing so. I guess times and technology has changed for us, so we could probably do it on the ground ths time...

China isnt so much of a threat really. I think if they got into it with us Japan would be on our side, they are a good nation to have on your side ;)

Im not personally worried about it unless it comes to our soil here. If and when it does every person that has a gun will need to fight, period. That means if your old enough to aim and pull, you fight. Even great grandpa...

i agree with you on that.. i'm not extremely worried about it unless it comes to our soil here. i think the only case that would happen would be with terrorists, but even then we'd be able to handle it with our law enforcement agencies for the most of it. I doubt many countries have the balls to fuck with us on our own soil.

The problem with alaska from what i've heard is that because of enviromentalists it'd cost alot to drill up there... i wish we could though.

Like you said with israel... they're not really liked in that area. If Syria or more importantly Iran stepped in i think that'd be a pretty sucky situation, especially if iran ever builds a nuke and finds the balls to use it.

Like i said, this stuff has just been going through my mind a little bit. yeah.

edit: but i still think its possible before 2010 or sometime after....

I think if for some reason things got really bad in the M.E. and we needed the oil in Alaska.
I think the American public will finally give the big ol F.U. to the enviromentalists, and drilling will begin.

I also think Isreal will be able to handle themselves, and hopefully we won't even need to get involved in it. They are a pretty tough nation, and been putting up with this stuff for over 50 years now.

Yeah Israel is pretty bad ass. My squadron had an exercise with them about a year ago, and the stomped our ass. Were talking block 50 F16 (us) against tricked out Block 60s (them), and they have better training. So it was kinda a given.

So yeah I am not to worried about them, they can hold their own pretty well.

Korea would be interesting. We have the technology to win, but we would loose some ground in korea before we could stop their troop movement. And they would be using chems so we would have our work cut out for us.

Yeah Japan would take our side, but I don't see us and China ever fighting. My upstares neighbor is from china, and she doesn't think china would ever start stuff with us. Nor do I think we would start stuff with them.

Iran, well you ever noticed how people like to talk trash when your busy doing something else. yeah they have some issues, and I don't want them having nukes, but I don't see them using them. Hopefully its just a ploy to get more money off of us and the eu.

Ok...Check this out.
Go into any store in the country (ours that is) and you will find more things on the shelves "made in china" than any other country.
China has way to much to risk economically to be at war with us, it would send them into a economic depression like the world has never seen. Especially if you account for all of our allies that would also cut ties.

When you think back to WWII and WWI, it's funny that our previous enemies and allies have somewhat flopped around, mainly for economic reasons.

Oil isn't an issue to begin with, we really don't get that much oil from the middle east. The media and oil companies want us to think that we do, though.

The big difference between a current war and the previous ones is the fact that the media has gained too much power. Had CNN, Fox news, and so forth been there on D-day we would have never heard the end of it. If the media would leave us alone and let us get the job done without an enormous emphasis on diplomacy, then perhaps we could settle many of the current world issues. As is, I'd hate to get in a war with anybody. Iraq is a cakewalk compared to what we could be dipping our feet into.

Israel spends more money on military (per capita) than any other nation. Just a little trivia

Shoot, Newt Ghingrich (sp?) mentioned today that this is probably the start of WWIII. I just keep thinking this:

There will be wars and rumors of wars.

then some dude from the middle east will say peace for all countries

The world will bow to this dude, and all hell will be release on the world.

Few have ties with Israel, esp. from the middle east. The few that do have ties with them will eventually betray them. Which really boils down to us and the pope, or both. More specifically, IMO the papacy will regain political control. PM me if ya want to share opinions, go further in depth :)
