box help
box help
Hey I was wondering if anybody made boxes on here. Im sure somebody does that could help me out. I dont have any real reliable audio stores around where I live so I was wondering if somebody could possibly make me a box. A dual 1.5 ft^3 per chamber ported box tuned to 40 (or around there), for two twelves. If you think you could possibly do this gimme a price including s&h to zip code 46553. Thanks!
you dont want to tune that high.. that wont sound very good.. tune lower.. like 30-35hz.. what type of output are you looking for? and what kind of 12"s and what kind of power will they get, and what kind of car?, anyway, there are a few people on here that build boxes.. you may get directed towards TCAB boxes, stay away from them.. the guy who makes them (Mark) has been WAY Behind, and has Many complaints, people that have been waiting over 4 months.. but theres people on here that build boxes.. i wont mention names because they may not do it anymore or not want too.. so.. if they want to do it, they will reply.

for a pair of ported RE12 subs, I'd tune the box around 35Hz. it should sound nice around there, and still hit plenty hard and what will sound "deep."
for 12" subs, you may want to go a little bigger, to about 2ft^3 per chamber.
you can measure out specs for the box with the calculators to get port dimensions on http://www.bcae1.com under the basic box calculator section.
you'll want slot vents, or 4" ID ports if you go round.
0.75" MDF for building material.
