Opinions on Hifonics BXI 2006D

Post by rlemieux »

I am about a week away from purchasing an amp. I will be pushing two SWR-1042 Alpine Type R subs. I have been looking at the Hifonics BXI 2006D rated at (1300x1 @ 2 ohms and 2000x1 @ 1 ohm). I was wanting to get some opinions. I want an amp that will not only push these subs, but I have thought about in the next year purchasing two AA Arsenals (750 watts RMS per sub), so I want something that will grow. Anyway, I was looking for suggestions on other amps that compare to this one (can be bought on eBay for around 315 shipped) and opinions on the Hifonic line of amps. Thanks in advance.

that is a very good amp for that price they only word of caution is that you should deffinatly get it from a dealer. if you get that amp from ebay and it needs to be repaired maxxsonics wont do the work because you didnt buy it from an authorized dealer.

Yeah, for the price you'd probably wont find anything any better.

Yeah, I have looked everywhere. The lowest I have found is around 365 with shipping. I have emailed a couple online dealers asking them for some type of discount (in a last ditch effort) but that usually never works.

maxxsonics will not repair it. you will have to go to an outside company and chances are they will have to get parts from maxxsonics and they wont sell them. i sell that amp for 425 with a full warranty factory authorized replacement.

Um, I worked for a car audio installer for several years. We repaired everything, no matter where they got it. Most amps can be repaired very cheaply, most of the time in the range of 50-60 dollars.
