wiring two amps question

ok, kinda stupid question here
i got a 2000 civic with a JL 500/1 slash amp connected to a RF HE2 sub..reall basic, but it gives me thump.
recently, i bought a pair of alpine type-s 6.5 speakers and a kicker ix404 amp...
how do i go about connecting all the amps together. i know RCA's and stuff, but i mean can i just run 1 remote and split it at the end? what about distributor blocks - is 8 gauge wire enough?
also, will my alternator be able to handle all that much watts, or should i upgrade anywhere (better battery + cap?). would it be possible for anyone to post the amperage rating of a 2000 civic too? thx sry new to hondas

You can run 1 remote, and split it like a Y at either end. Or you can just plug the remote wire directly into 1 amp, and run another wire from that amp to the other amp.

Use a distribution block for the power wire. And just ground to the same spot if its accessible.

when i ran 2 amps, i just take a single piece of wire, and run it from the sub amp , then to the mids/highs amp.. not sure if it would do anything bad on doing it on more than 2 amps though..

do you think it will put a strain on the alternator? should i upgrade the battery or add a cap? i know hondas dont got a but alternator amperage..not sure the number tho

well.. you Could add a cap.. but think about it.. your electrical is suffering enough, and adding a cap will just put more strain on it.. if YOU want too, then go ahead.. but we wont wanna hear about how your alt crapped or caught on fire.. the best thing to do, is to get a high output alt. im sure you can get them for a decent price somewheres.. from Excessive Amperage or Iraggi Alts. or some other places.. (check the FAQ's for more sites). also, look into doing the Big 3 upgrade.. i dont remember off hand if theres a Big 3 tutorial on here, but heres a good one from Realm Of Excursion:

also, go with 4 gauge when doing your big 3.. you wont need any bigger.. but the tutorial lets you know all. you should try this before you get a High Output Alt. but still get one, so you dont have to worry about putting a strain on your system.. you could also get yourself a seperate battery for your stereo.. just a little extra. hope i helped.

cool. i already daisy chained my grounds, and just need to upgrade the alt to battery to complete the big3 upgrade - it was the first thing i did when i put in my sub/amp. thx, i'll look into getting a bigger alt

I think you should be alright running the remote wire to both amps, you could run a relay if you want the extra security, but its probably not nessacry with just the two amps.

okk so i checked out knukonceptz for my amp install, and i came up with this:
installing:
JL 500/1 amp to a 12in RF HE2 sub (weak, but good enuff)
Kicker ix404 to::
Alpine Type-S 6.5in Components + crossovers
JL 6x9 VR-series

- for all of this, im getting:

4 Gauge 4 channel amp install kit
- 20 ft 4 gauge wire + 2 RCAs + 20ft 12 gauge wire
- terminals to wire a 4 channel amp
20 MORE ft of 12 gauge wire (Klear Kable)
1 MORE RCA (Klarity Kable)
Kompression Fuse Distrobution Block
16 ft 8 Gauge Kolossus Wire
10 ft 10 gauge speaker wire (for sub rewire)

10 ft 4 Gauge Kolossus Wire (for Big 3 rewire, daisy chain will be kept)
+6 Ring Terminals 4 Gauge acceptance

only thing im missing is the speaker wire to amp terminals (which they don't sell) and disconnects (i'll probably buy locally)

my bill is going to be about 123 dollars w/shipping - am i going overboard here?
locally, i've been quoted for 160 dollars + free speaker terminals, power/ground terminals using nothing but Directed products.
Should i be looking elsewhere (like a lower price range, manufacturers, etc) for my wiring?
do u think i'll get a better price if i call them? I live in Hawaii, so theres really not much i can do locally but settle, last guy flaked on the wiring with some walmart brand..

KnuKonceptzs probably has the cheapest wiring. I don't think you can go wrong with their products nor get any cheaper.

Regarding what you need, I'm no t100% sure, I need to go to bed. If I have time tommorow at work ,I'll check it.
