nice/fast/powerful car for 30-45,000$?

hey whatre some nice cars with at least 280hp/torque for around $30,000 --> $45,000?
thinking like infiniti, BMW, lexus, merc, etc. thanks a lot .

BMW - M3, or a 330i. the 330 doesnt quite have that much power though, its got enough torque to throw you back though, plenty quick. you might find a good used 540i in that range.

BMW ///M3 is def. my top choice :s_thumbup . But if your lookin for fast you could also take a look at Camaro/Firebird (w/ a 350 obviously). Mazda rx-8, nissan 350z, subaru sti, mistubishi lancer, audi s4....just to name a few (stick w/ the sexy german cars) :s_thumbup

i would DEFINITELY go with either the Lancer Evo VIII(approx 300hp and lb/ft torque), or the Sti with about the same.. both 4 bangers!

Well, the Evo VIII only has about 280 hp opposed to the M3's 343 hp. and the M3 is rear wheel drive which means lots of fun (if u kno how to drive). But all wheel drive's can be fun too...like spinning axis donuts

i like the Infinity G35 and the Nissan 350z, not sure on their HP, but i like the Infinity better.

The G35 and 350z are based off of the same chassis and motor. They just basically have different bodies. But yes, i agree, the G35 looks sweeter.

im personally in love with the Pontiac GTO, and the Mazda RX-8. both start at around 30k.

The RX-8 disappointed me. I took a test drive in one the other day. Yes, it is fast, but it feels like (well, because it doesn't) have any torque. In other words, it's just not that much fun off the line. The handling is great and responsive though.
I really like the GTO too. A Corvette Z06 would be nice (I don't like the regular one because of too many people in a mid-life crisis
). Definately the M3 and S4, but too bad the C55 AMG is just shy of 54k. Saab 9-5 Aero, Subaru Impreza STI (me likey), Lexus GS430, Volvo S60R, Volkswagen R32, etc. Going back to america, the Cadillac STS, Lincoln LS, and Dodge Magnum are fairly fast too.

Yes, the RX-8 is pathetic in my opinion as well. The torque in that vehicle is like 170 lb ft or something.
The new GTO's with the LS series v8 are very nice. A used Vette would be cool as well. But if I had that money to spend, the sports car enthusist in me would go for a BMW M3, hands down.
