adding Kicker to the family

Post by lotas »

Well I did a price-match through sounddomain and got the kicker kx 1200.1 for 440$ or so...and sounddomain is an authorized dealer so thats cool. Anyways this will be powreing a 12" XXX...hopefully everything turns out ok.

other recent purchases:
2/0 wire for alt---> batt and batt--> d.block
2ga wire for d.block --> amps
50sq ft of edeadv1.se or something... i dont remember the version exactly

so my setup now is
CDT 6.5" comps (gonna be replaced eventually)
jl 300/4
re 12" xxx sealed
kicker kx 1200
edead doors/trunk
pioneer deh5500p (also gonna be replaced eventually)

i dunno im getting there....

by the way if anyone else wants that kicker for 440$ authorized just do their price match and give them the link to the Kicker kx 1200 on etronics.com

cept i got hit cause i had to pay WA state tax for SD...anyways ..later

they sound real good (a lot better than any coax ive heard) but they dont sound good when turned up loud... i dont expect any speaker to sound clear when the volume is all the way up, but just at louder volumes I should say they dont sound as good.

dunno im looking at RE comps....Adire Kodas...or gonna look into focal/rainbow/higher model CDTs....dunno not gonna buy anytime in the near future so i have awhile to research.

I envy you now... Sounds like you are really starting to get a nice set-up, good job! I really miss having my system, but it was time to start over. Next set-up will be better I surpose, I guess that it'll all be worth it in the end.

he has the CDT CL61a set which is the cheaper version of the CL61.. by about a C note.
hey what are you using to power those CDTs by the way?
This could just be a matter of needing a good high-pass filter around 125Hz, 12Db/octave, or needing an amplifier with some clean power instead if using the head unit.
That may clean up those CDT components surprisingly well.
