Wow, thats a tough decision. I know the JL's have a regulated output, so that means they put out the same amount of power between like 12.5-14.4 volts as well as 1-4 ohms.
Not too sure about the arc amps, but i know both brands are high quality and wont be diappointed with either.
If i had the money i would probably go with the Arc's, just because everybody knows and wants JL Audio.

x2 on what Tedd said, I have an arc 400.4 and love the thing. I hooked it up to run two tens in my sisters ride, and loved the thing. I'm gonna be using it for my fronts now. But ya, I would choose arc over JL because of the "everyone loves JL."

The KAR is a refreshing change.
The JL offers more flexibility overall.
If you are thinking about swapping them out you probably wont hear/get much difference on the power side of things...
Both amps utilize quality componets, thats for sure.
