got my subs in today! they sound great... i havn't had a chance to actually tune the amp yet... i just kinda turned it up a a little, under halfway up.no audible distortion though.

pics will come monday when i carpet the other box. i ran out of freakin carpet :-d

setup:

KnuKonceptz wiring.... KonFused power & ground distrobution systems
Pioneer DEH-560Mp
Dayton neo. tweets in sail panels
memphis coaxils (soon to be replaced!) in doors
Alpine MRP-F240 for highs
2 Elevation Audio Comp 10" subwoofers in .74ish sealed boxes.
Hifonics TX1005 for subs

i know they're not designed for ported boxes... but could anyone tell me how it would sound if i ported them? (preferably someone with expirence)

never ported one but if you do youll voide warranty and probaly will blow them. if you need more output get 2 more.

Qts of .43, a plot of that sub in WinISD shows it's more inclined to ported than sealed. It voids the warranty, though? That's kinda crappy, I find most entry level subs to do better ported just because it tends to lower distortion, especially down low or at high volume levels.

im pretty sure it will cause they say every time you talk to them sealed only. i put some in a horn before and they didnt like it to much till i redid part of it. they are kind of picky subs when they arnt sealed. even a bigger sealed their power handleing goes down.

Image Dynamics says the same thing, but porting the ID Max and IDQs really opens them up :)

Ported will raise power handling above tuning, though, mechanically at least. Thermally it will be slightly lower, but it shouldn't be enough to really cause any problems.
