[resolved] lincoln cd changer

i was wondering if any body knew what was wrong with my changer it keeps saying cd-rom error i dont want to have to take everything apart because i am lazy for one and its my mother car. should i just scrap the factory radio and put in an alpine or fix the changer and do some work.

It might just need cleaning. You need to take a look at it and see if there is any abnomalities. We need more information.

no my problem is not resolved. where should i clean the changer. should i use the disk cleaner or spray the connections with some dust sprayer.

You can use both to be safe. But most of all you want to use the lens cleaner.

i remember when i first got my car i had a similar problem, everytime i would put on a cd , it would say ERROR, i was ABOUT to buy a new cd changer for like 200! but i was going through the manual desperate as hell cause i couldnt hear music and it said that the cd changer takes the cds face down insted of up, i felt so relieved after that, worth a try.
