Pioneer DEH-8600mp question?

Post by muddybear »

So far I really like this Deck. It sounds very good through my shity front speakers and crappy amp. (all to be replaced soon)
but every time when I eject a CD and the face folds down, the deck turns off until you put a CD back in. once you put a CD in the face closes and starts fine. this would bother me much, except for the fact that I have a electric antena which goes down when I eject the CD and goes back up when i put the new one in. kinda anoying.

is this a problem with the way it wired in? or is that just how the deck works? I kinda thought that when I am listening to a CD the deck would tell the antena to go down since its not needed.

I think that is just the way it works; most cd players only have the antenna go up or down going in or out of the radio. That does sound irritating. What you could do is wire a switch into the power antenna output and just keep it off when you listen to cd's. Just remember to flip it back when you turn to the radio.

yea, that what I was thinking. do you know if the radio sends a constant signal to keep the antena up or just one signal when the deck turns On? If its sending a constant signal, then a switch shouldn't be much of a problem. plus I would prefer that the antena is down when I'm listening to a CD. As it is now, I just switch to the radio while I change CD's. That keeps it from turning off. So far, thats my only real complaint on the deck.
