First, yes, i know its a cheap @$$ deck and it wouldn't have been my first choice, or even my 10th choice, but my wife was trying to do something nice for me, and bought it off Amazon for me for XMas. I installed it Christmas day and at first it was "ok". It had a cheesy interface and very quirky features but i got use to it and made the best of it since it was her gift to me...but now I've got a real issue with it that i cannot deal with and i need to know what to do with...now with that out of the way maybe i can avoid some of the "take it out and throw it away" replies (yes, i know i need to, but...well, re read the first part of this)...
The problem is this...when its either playing a CD/DVD or playing the media card, it sounds like my speakers are blown (like there's static or something in them)...but in radio or aux mode, it sounds fine. I originally thought it was speakers until i realized it sounded fine in the other modes. So, any ideas to fix it or is this deck just a great paperweight now? Any ideas what went wrong with it?
And lastly, if anyone would be so kind...what would be a good, similar deck that won't cost me $400 more than this one did, lol? I'm looking for something with the same features but i really don't need "top of the line", i don't really get into audio a whole lot (i like a decent system but i don't HAVE to have the loudest, baddest system in the land), just want something halfway decent.
At this point I'm about to put in my stock stereo and get an iSimple. Truck is an 04 Sierra, btw...

Problems with a Boss BV9560...

It sounds like something internal o the deck is fried. Or a setting is jacked up on the cd side, but ok on the radio side.
I would check and see if the cd player has different settings for the x-over, bass, treble and so on. If it is different match it to the radio and aux in.
Does it only do it at high volume on the cd? Or all the time?

thanks Jeremy for the response. i've looked at settings and i don't see any, unless they're hidden. it worked fine for a month or two, then it did this. and it does it all the time, not just at high volume. as soon as you put it in CD or SD card mode, it does it...looks like i'm in the market for a new deck...
