New system what do I buy
I just got a job landscaping so im gonna be makin decent money and I wanna get a new system. Im getting the pioneer deh 8600 for my head unit.
I have a jbl 1200.1, and a us acoustics amp (150x2 channels)
I need new subs (current ones are infinity reference)
I i like loud midbass, when I say loud, i mean i like to feel it hehehe.
right now I have my subs crossed at 250, it says they work up to 250 hz and I like the midbass that comes from em. I dunno what subs to get though, that will still play up to around 250 hz. I also like my bass loud, I would like it to hurt my chest when they hit (wont play it like that all the time, just wanna be able to), but I dont want them to sound like utter garbage.
Most people use 6 1/2s for midbass but im afraid it wont be enough for me.
However I do need new speakers, I have sony explode 3.5s in the dash atm and thats all. I would like my speakers to be loud also. I can use the US acoustics amp to power whatever I get.
I want to be able to sufficently power whatever Subs I get with my jbl 1200.1
I wanted to get 2 RE XXX 12s but id need atleast 2 jbl 1200.1 amps and I dont wanna have to buy another.
If i left anything out lemme know, and thanks for any help u guys give me in advance
Id also like to spend under $1000 if possible

You could always go with a single XXX 12 or 15 off the JBL 1200.1 or you could use the single 1200.1 to power 2 12" xxx's in a large ported box if you've got the room. However, i'm willing to bet a single 12" or 15" XXX in a proper ported or sealed enclosure would give you plenty of ouput.Mithrandir wrote:I just got a job landscaping so im gonna be makin decent money and I wanna get a new system. i have a 12" xxx and i had it getting 1200watts from a kicker kx 1200.1 in a sealed box about 2.5 cu ft and it was very powerful. I dont know if it will be pounding your chest though...i never really turned the bass boost up too much... how about (2) RE SX 12"s ported getting 600watts each? (cant remember what the RMS on those babies are, but that should be pretty damn loud)audiobass10 wrote:You could always go with a single XXX 12 or 15 off the JBL 1200.1 or you could use the single 1200.1 to power 2 12" xxx's in a large ported box if you've got the room. or if you wanna mess around with glassing and such, you could putl ike Adire Koda 8's in your doors (glass them in) and then make kickpanels for your 6.5"s and tweet. Koda 8's would give you the midbass you are looking for!

Yea...i agree with the XXX's. If you are powering it with a 1200.1, you COULD run 2, but i would reccomend going ported.
OR, you could go w/ 2 Resonant Engineering SX's (that might keep you under $1000). Price list for them should be in the FAQ's somewheres.
As for midbasses, look into Adire Audio Koda 8 midwoofer. That should suffice for a midbass.
Hope you have an upgraded alternator!

Also, why not look into the Elevation sub's Justin has. They're in the same price range as the XXX's (maybe cheaper) and require less power to perform. I wouldn't hesitate buying them in your situation if I had the money. Even if you're running a single 1200.1, you're gunna wanna upgrade your stock alternator a bit.

I finally came up with a decent idea, I think im gonna get 3 RE SE 12s and give em 400 watts a piece, ill just make the boxes slightly bigger than they should be once i find a place that can cut the wood exact. That should give me plenty of spl with 3 12s and it wont sound like shit. It wont be too expensive also.
