Scary Day.

Post by MobileAudio219 »

So I couldn't sleep last night, at all. At 4:00am I laid down and literally could here a bubbling coming from my lungs. It was difficult to breathe and when I coughed it would send pain down my right shoulder. It was so bad I finally caved and went to the ER 5am.

I haven't been to a doctors or the ER in probably 10-15 years, at least not for myself.

Anyways, when I got there they pretty much got me right in. They checked my oxygen level and it low (I think it was 80?) so they put me on oxygen. When the doctor listened to my lungs and took blood work. The blood work indicated that I might have a blood clot in my lung. :sad017:

They shipped me to xray but those were so clouded from the fluid it didnt show anything. The next step was to get a CT scan.

While waiting for the CT results I was talking with the Dr, he said that if it came back postive I'd have to spend some time in the hospital. When I asked how much time, he said he could be a week, or it could be weeks. :sad017:

Well the test results came back negative (obviously because I'm typing this), but it was a scary as hell wait for the results.

I got a whole bunch of test taken and stuff done I've never had before though, so now I know what to expect when I get older. :thumbsup

CT scan, EKG, Blood Work, IV, Oxygen, Xray, and the little finger oxygen thingie that I learned to manipulate just so I could get a rating of over 90 so I didn't have to send a night at the hospital (hehe).

Turns out I have a bad case of phenomena and all kinds of gunk in and I guess around my lungs. The gave me some steroids, antibiotics, and an inhaler.

Starting to feel better and more stable now. I even sleep an hour or two, then woke in a mad sweat (I soaked my sheets and blanket), guess my fever broke.

Good to know you're still alive. I'm glad you went to emerge. It's better going and knowing then to find out too late.

I really didn't want to go, but it was to the point I didn't have much of a choice when I could no longer breathe... :surprised

My sister went with me to the ER, I made her take pictures of me all wired/tubed up, I'll post those later. It was kind of humorous until they said I might have a blood clot in my lung, thats when I started getting pretty worried.

I still get winded pretty easy, but its getting better. I'd say I'm up to about 70% now, so atleast Im improving!
