DSL to Cable ISP's

Ive been on DSL for a decent amount of time now. It hasnt been to bad.

Theres been a few (2-3) occasions where they had issues.

I got my latest bill for my telephone and my "hi speed" internet.

So I looked into switching over to cable and just using my magic jack as a home phone. My mom does this and hers works excellent. I think why mine doesnt work so good is because I dont have enough bandwidth. THe other thing is the phone on that line is janky.

My current DSL is 786kb/s. Im looking to moving to a 7MB/s line. I will save about $13 a month.

Im not sure if the Cable price I was given includes taxes or not (probably not).

Tonight for whatever reason my internet has been craptastic. I just tried speedtest.net and scored a wooping .06 MB second... I usually get .76...

Dsl around here sucks and cable is really good. I would never get dsl

Ya I want to order it but I havent.

Im going to call back and ask for a total price per month with taxes.

I still need to call Verizon and see what an upgrade DSL with Dry loop will run me.

cable internet is usually faster than dsl. reliable speed is always based on the company though and how many users they sign up on their system

Yea, your phone company won't be on top of cable until they start using those fiber optic lines. My cable company just upped my speed to 25 mbps

cable here is TW. In MI it was Charter. Both suck ass for support and service. Both seem to have frequent issues with service outtages and they send out highschool dropouts for service calls.

I have 12Mbit DSL now, and it's great. They also supply my two land lines using VoIP, as a bundle deal with the monthly price fixed for life, for which I can't complain because it's pretty cheap.
I'm fine with ADSL.

I have terrible speed in my house as well.. I have Charter as well... I hate it... I am going to upgrade to a T1 service once I get my own house and start running servers out of my basement for my Job... I have a professor who does this and he said you will never look back after doing it...
