Kicker sx 400.2

Post by Tim »

Anybody have any expperience with these amps. I bought one from a guy I work with, and sold it to another guy I work with and it evidently dont work.

Its not burnt, and the guy I got it from unhooked it from his truck right in front of me.

The guy I sold it to, hooked it up.

Powers on and lights up, no protect light, nothing out of the ordinary, the lcd screen lights up, just no power to the subs.
anybody have any ideas??

we tried that in my buddies car this afternoon. we didnt hook up the speaker wires, because we didnt think it was getting a signal.

I am gonna try it again though. and see what we get.

lol what? you tried hooking it up but you didnt do anything else to really check? sounds like a waste of work. Usually its an input issue make sure all the filters are wide open, try multiple signal input's.

If that fails start checking voltages input and output.

I posted that reply in the heat of my little boy, flipping out, and I didnt get to finish it.

We hooked everything up and tested the outputs with a signal coming in and got nothing.

the amp has a lcd screen and all kinds of functions, it has a sick bay and from there you do the diagnostics, voltage, gain range, etc... We got into the system settings and from there you can control dsp settings, gain control, filters and it has a mute setting, and we made sure to check that one and it was off.

tried different positions for gain control, gain range, the bypasses.

We ended up working on it for almost an hour.

Even if there was no load present shouldnt there have been some sort of output at the speakers??

Oh yeah the voltage was good at around 12.5 volts

Yeah its a pretty killer amp. I really like it. I would like to find out what is wrong(if anything) and maybe use it myself.
